Project Overview
The project reorganises a full consumer protection law course into a structured digital learning environment. It combines a bilingual knowledge map, detailed topic pages, cross-links and a separate exam-preparation pathway.
The goal is not to replace the original teaching materials, but to make relationships between doctrines, sources and revision tasks more visible.
The Learning Challenge
The source material spans multiple teaching units, legal regimes and document types. A linear set of notes makes it difficult to see where concepts overlap, which sources support a rule and how a topic connects to an exam response.
The design challenge was therefore one of information architecture: preserving detail while giving learners a clear route through the material.
Learning System
The current product is organised around four connected layers.
Knowledge Map
A bilingual visual overview connects the main course branches and provides direct routes into detailed topics.
Topic Library
Dedicated pages separate rules, elements, exclusions, remedies, cases and source references into a consistent reading structure.
Source Trail
Status and source cues keep current law, proposed reform, course examples and reference material visibly distinct.
Exam Preparation
A separate pathway converts the knowledge library into issue-spotting, answer-planning and revision tools.
Design Approach
Mapped the complete course structure before designing individual pages.
Grouped related concepts across teaching weeks and legal regimes.
Used consistent page patterns and cross-links to reduce navigation effort.
Kept learning content and exam preparation separate while connecting both to the same source structure.
Added bilingual labels and explicit status cues to improve clarity and traceability.
Current Outcome
The live site currently covers 9 course parts, 20 seminars and the available course source layers through a connected knowledge library. The next phase continues to develop the exam-preparation tools without replacing the underlying knowledge base.
This project demonstrates how research, information design and web development can be combined to turn dense source material into a practical learning experience.
